The Polish Academy of Sciences Institute of Parasitology was established in 1984. Simultanously, the farm organization started in the then Research Chair of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Baranowo. Thanks to Dr. Andrzej Krzywinski and his devotion to the idea, in Kosewo Gorne you can observe the unique deer farming, which is one of the main attractions of Mragowo surroundings. The post carries some research on the wild pony, the deer and the beaver. Some part of the wild pony herd occupies the woods on the peninsula. The deer farm in Kosewo Gorne is under the rule of the Polish Academy of Sciences, however the soul are two enthusiasts, i.e. Teresa and Bartek Dmuchowski.

The grassland on the hill where deers feed is a couple of minutes way from their house. There is 100 ha in all.

– You should come near the herd slowly, not to scare it away. You can come near roe deers, but deers can sometimes be dangerus, in their mating time particularly. Even a keeper should not approach them in September and October. They are big and strong animals, says Teresa to the visitors.
